The iPhone 2.0 smart phones finally hit the stores today, but the POS systems have problems, activation takes forever (many of the users still hold an iBrick instead of an iPhone) and the newly-launched Apple MobileMe (me.com e-mail service) is also down as of right now.
Anyways, the long lines of people in front of the Apple stores are still waiting to get theirs. The 8GB third-generation Apple iPhone goes for $199 and the 16GB goes for $299. Unlike the iPhone 1.0, the iPhone 2.0 requires customers to activate in store. |

The new third-generation Apple iPhone goes on sale July 11. The new iPhone loads Web pages 2.8 times faster than the 2G iPhone. 8GB is priced at $199 from AT&T with a two-year wireless contract and 16GB costs $299.
You can opt for MobileMe which will cost $99 a year with 60-day free trial and includes 20GB of free online storage. |

Due to the slumping sales of the current 2.5G iPhones, Apple may start selling its new 3G 8GB iPhone for $199 in June. Apple may also sell new iPhones for $499 without the required AT&T contract. A Fortune blog reported. It’s only two month from now. If you are in the market for an iPhone, you probably should wait for the much faster and possibly cheaper 3G iPhone. | ||||
